MeetingsThis is a summary of the minutes from the December 9, 2007 chapter meeting: Treasurer's Report Old Business There are 25 memory patches left for Jack, except for what Mita and Lori have. We would like to sell what we have left before ordering more. They are $5.00 a patch. Newsletters are out and I am mailing them to the active members. The calendar will be made up at the January meeting. Valencia County Toy Run was December 9th. No other old business at this time. New Business The Christmas Party will be held at Bob and Joyce Casey's. It is December 16, 2007 from 1-4 pm. No White Elephants please. A benefit will be held on December 15th at the Ponderosa from 6-9 p.m. We are trying to help benefit the Sanctuary Zone, which as most of you know it is a shelter for battered women. Any cash donations would be appreciated. No other new business at this time. MRF Report The MRF is and will continue to work on this universal helmet law. They have along with the president of NCOM sat down and talked to the head of the NTSB. Not to sure what the outcome will be—stay tuned. NMMRO Report Bike Day at the Capitol will be on February 9th at 9:30 a.m. That is on a Saturday. Barb expects to see everyone there. Expect the Gang Bill to come back; it has come back every year for the last 4 years. We will keep everyone informed as to what bill will be effecting motorcyclists. Remember this is a short session and we will not be able to drop any bills but the Governor can ask for different legislation and he has been hot and heavy on the Gang Bills so look for those to be brought back. NCOM Report Nothing new to add or change at this time. Announcements No Announcements at this time. Please remember to be careful and cautious when riding. Don't assume that we automatically have the right of way. Remember look twice and save a life. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Elizabeth Lacey More minutes |
