New Business
COC Meeting: The Patriot Act needs to be repealed. NMMRO is the designated lobbyist for COC. COC has donated $300 to help efforts to repeal the Patriot Act. With the Patriot Act, anyone can be arrested as a terrorist, possibly through the gang enhancement clause (ABATE could be considered a gang) and held without bail. Many cities in New Mexico are fighting the Act on a local level, as well as on the state level.

The ABATE State Board Meeting was held at Mark and Leslie's on Saturday, October 18. Updates from the meeting will be in the state newsletter, which will be available in approximately two weeks.

Please contact your legislators regarding the hazards of "alligators" from retread tires tossed on the roadways by semi trucks. Also let them know about the hazards to motorcyclists from ribbon patching on highways.

Meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
