ABATE of New Mexico

Meetings

This is a summary of the minutes from the September 21, 2003 chapter meeting:

Meeting called to order.

Old Business

Vet days: ABATE asked to participate on November 9 in Truth or Consequences. All bikes, cars, etc. meet at Veterans Memorial, Louisiana and Gibson in Albuquerque, to drive down. No time yet; Top will let us know.

Treasurers report

New Business

We need a new events coordinator (tabled until after carnival). Halloween carnival will be held at Baca's house. Our volunteers for set up are Mita, Sharp, Bob, Top and Damon. Suggestions: Brownies or other goodies for the cakewalk.

NMMRO toy run will be help in November. It is going to be a big run, benefiting Bethel Storehouse and the women's shelter.

Top suggests that First Mountain support Jake Baca with his racing. Next season his races will cost $180 and he needs gear to finish out the year. Motion made and accepted to donate $60.

The MRF is the only motorcycle rights activists in Washington, DC, with a lobbyist. Charlie would like everyone in First Mountain Chapter to join the MRF because they fight to keep EPA regulations under control and fight for our freedoms. State ABATE is a member, but Charlie would like to see our Chapter become members. Motion made and passed. MRF email: mrf-news@mrg.org.
