There are brochures available for the riders to gather pledges before the run. There are various fantastic prizes for riders who gather various pledge amounts, pick up a brochure and check it out. Brochures are available at the bike shops in town or you can check out their website for more details, www.marchofdimes.com. You can also pre-register at this website so you won't have to stand in line the day of the run.
Boomer
POW/MIA wants to know if the East Mountain Chapter of ABATE wants to partner with Viet Nam Memorial, the offer was also extended to the Patriots, to get a rally started. There has been a decline in participation in recent years and they would like us to participate and rekindle the flame. East Mountain ABATE would be listed as co-sponsors on the website and other information regarding the rally. Check out their website: www.nmvetsmemorial.org. We need to keep our heroes in the public eye. A motion was made and approved to participate in any way we can.
They have put together a combat boot display, one pair for each New Mexico POW or MIA hero. These boots are to be displayed over the next year at all of the bike events. In the gathering of the boots and researching the names an added fifty more names were discovered that had previously been unknown. They are looking for a group of bikers to follow the boot display and participate in the parades.
Joyce Casey
Joyce and Cherie have found a great new place to hang out, it is called the Barley Room. They have great food and they would like to be one of the stops or have one of our runs end there next year.
Dave Berry Memorial Race Team
Jake took a bad spill in August during one of his races. He dislocated his knee, but our tough little man managed to pop it back in place, pick up his bike, and finish the race (with a broken clutch) in THIRD place. WAY TO GO JAKE!!!!
