This is a summary of the minutes from the July 6, 2003 chapter meeting:

Meeting called to order at 10:14 a.m.

Previous minutes read and accepted.

Treasurers report

State board meeting at the Baca's on July 12 at 12:00 p.m. Food: Potato salad (Leslie), burgers & dogs (Top), beans (Patty), accessories (Leigh). Joyce Sherrod will e-mail directions to all chapters.

1st Mountain campout, July 26-27
At this time, only a small group is able to confirm attendance. Therefore, Villa Nueva was chosen. The group site there is already booked. Top said he has camped there before and was allowed to have 18 people at his camp site. There should not be a problem accommodating all that may attend. Ride safe and enjoy!

School Supply Poker Run
Check-in will be a Dino's Burgers located at Tramway and Central, behind Raley's next to the gas station. The rest of the run will include the three schools that will receive the supplies, ending at the Ponderosa Restaurant on South 14/337. Everyone is asked to collect up raffles prizes anywhere you can.

Announcements
Patth read a thank-you letter addressed to all members.

Dianne Sandlin has resigned as newsletter editor.

July 16 is Ride To Work Day. It is a national event. Participation is invited to all who ride.

Top has lost his grandfather and two cousins in the last week. Goodwill and prayers. Also, Joyce Casey is heading back to Alabama to continue care for her mother. Goodwill and prayers as well.

An acquaintance and fellow rider known to Top will be having his ashes laid to rest in seven locations in the country. All are invited to attend the spreading of ashes. Meet at the Cracker Barrel in Albuquerque on August 3, 2003 at 7 a.m. and ride to Angel Fire with a stop for breakfast in Santa Fe on the way. The man known as Roger had a goal of traveling on motorcycle through all 50 states and died before completing his dream. Some of his ashes will be spread in Angel Fire.

Chapter Business
Two positions are up for re-election this year: coordinator and treasurer. By vote, according to the ABATE by-laws, Patty Berry is re-elected to the office of Chapter Coordinator. Mita Saldaña is re-elected to the office of Treasurer. Motions made and accepted.

Meeting adjourned 10:57 a.m.
