Meetings

This is a summary of the minutes from the June 6, 2004 chapter meeting:

Meeting called to order at 10:13 a.m.

Treasurer's Report

Old Business
Mike is having trouble collecting all the cans. If you can get your aluminum cans over to his house it would be a big help to him, or even better yet if you could cash them in yourselves and just donate the cash from them.

Villa Nueva June 11 and 12, 2004
Yvonne has already reserved the campground and she has been reimbursed. Top is going up Friday afternoon and Patty is going up Friday night. Call Top or Patty for directions. There is always plenty of food. Bring what you want to eat and cook. George will be going so there will be no leftovers. Veterans can get a free fishing license, but you need a special form and it has to be sent to Santa Fe. Fishing is supposed to be good.

State Picnic: June 19-20 Cedro Campground
It had been reported that there are no flyers at Larry's or Motorcycle Wild. Patty took 20 flyers each to them. She has the master so if anyone needs more flyers let Patty know. We are in charge of security, Dianna suggested orange bandanas to designate the security staff and she will supply them. The bake sale table will be set up next to the beer. Our share is $250.00 and Patty will pick up a $75.00 check. Proceeds from the picnic will go into a fund to help send people to different functions so that we can keep abreast of what is happening in other states.

We will have our Chapter Meeting at the State Picnic on Saturday, June 19. The Patriots also have a meeting that morning so everyone that does not show up for our meeting is fair game for being volunteered. There will be no July 4 meeting it will be included in the June 19 meeting to prepare for our chapter picnic.

Motorcycle Deaths near Angel Fire
Mita reported that Channel 7 News reported on the Memorial Weekend death of a motorcyclist from Colorado, they made it an issue multiple times that the guy was not wearing a helmet, but that it did not seem to be an issue that the driver of the vehicle that killed him was a 15 year old that had crossed the double yellow line. Barbara Alvar is investigating this incident.

Channel 27
Patty will keep the tradition of Dave's World alive. The show will be back on the air starting in October with Top acting as the emcee. If you have any ideas on potential shows please contact Patty.

Top
The run for the wall went well except for the multitude of weather conditions that the participants had to endure during their journey. Lanky Dave now has a tree at the memorial, it is tree number T-16, if you are ever in DC stop by and have a word with Dave. Lanky had a good ride to the Wall on Tops wind screen and he too endured the weather.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:05 a.m.
