This is a summary of the minutes from the April 6, 2003 chapter meeting:
Minutes from previous meeting were waived, and treasurer's report was also waived.
Old business:
Poker Run, Sun. May 4: 1st stop Corner Pocket, Kristen will attend. 2nd stop TV Studio, Patty and Dave will attend. 3rd stop Against The Grain, Julian and Diann will attend. 4th stop somewhere near or at Bien Mur, Cat and possibly Leigh or Julian will attend. Leigh will contact them to see if it is okay to stop there. Secret stop, Charley will attend. 5th stop, Corner Pocket. Card bags have been distributed. Games: Pool and dart tournament, Jack and Damon in charge, $ prize to be determined. Raffle prizes: Kristen will stop by Western Mercantile; Dave may have Route 66 shirts. 1st Albuquerque wants to set up table; may be willing to give raffle prize as donation. Saturday, May 3rd: Volunteers are needed to make suckers, Patty's house, 2:00 p.m.
Chapter Picnic, May 10 and 11: Cedro Campground is reserved. Food: Dave will fry turkeys; Leigh will purchase 9 of them at Wal-Mart. Dave suggested peanut oil for frying turkeys. Volunteers for other stuff, beans, pasta salad, French bread were suggested. Games: Jack and Damon in charge.
New business:
State Board Meeting: ABATE will do concessions for NMMRO poker run April 27 to raise money for the state. Nominations for state level positions: State Coordinator Randy LaBelle, State Secretary Kristin Clayton, State Editor Diann Sandlin. Nominations for ABATE member of the year: Liz Espinoza (State Coordinator), Jim Chmelichek (former 1st Albuquerque Coordinator). Votes will be taken at July State Board Meeting.
Kristin has decided to step down from the Chapter Deputy Coordinator position after taking on the interim State Secretary position. Julian has been nominated and voted in as Interim Deputy Coordinator. Congratulations!
