This is a summary of the minutes from the April 4, 2004 chapter meeting:

Treasurer's Report

New Business
The Renegade Rally has been deemed a "no colors" event. The NMMRO, COC and ABATE are writing letters of complaint; THIS IS DISCRIMINATION! ABATE will be boycotting this event unless this status changes! This is the official stance by the 3 groups.

May 1st is Motorcycle Awareness Day. We can and will have a booth at the Sandia Drags. Please save all your aluminum cans for our racing team! They will be manning the booth there. NMMRO will be donating cash and a flag for our moto-cross team!!! Huge Thanks to you NMMRO!!!

The race team currently needs about $150.00 for equipment. Our chapter has set aside $$$ for the team. Please ask businesses for sponsorships!!

Secretary's side note: Our business, East Mountain Wildcrafters, is creating a line of soap "Yuccy Soap" just for the team. They will receive 15% of the proceeds on this line of soap. If you want to purchase any other products from us and mention Team Lanky the kids will get 10% of all the sales.

Bear has truckloads of cans for the team. Bear, Mike & Top will coordinate. The kids, Top, Leslie and volunteers will help Monday after Easter.

We need to get busy making motorcycle suckers for the poker run, upcoming picnics and other events. Patty, Leslie, or Yvonne will be calling on volunteers for this happy chocolate molding event. We have Cat, Leslie, Yvonne, Diana, Leigh, Patty and maybe a few others. If you are interested in helping with this or other fundraising activities, please call Leslie (286-4439), Yvonne (286-8492) or Patty (281-3493).

Motion made and accepted to order business cards.

Notes from NMMRO:
In January there will be a Bike Day At the Roundhouse. BE THERE!!!! WE NEED A BIG TURNOUT!!! NMMRO, COC, MRF, NCOM & ABATE are fighting very hard for our RIGHTS & FREEDOM. If nothing else, show up, wear your leathers, make your voices heard and support all that are fighting so hard to keep you free! We will make sure to keep everyone updated, so you will not miss any important events.

Right of Way issue: Please contact your congressman regarding stricter penalties for the deaths of motorcyclists caused by irresponsible motorists.

If you need more information regarding upcoming bills that need our support you can contact Jim "Grumpy" Little (286-1509) or Cat (286-2873).

Old Business
Poker run; April 25th: Motion made and accepted, NMMRO will man one of our stops selling water. (Survey S.W.)

The stops will be PJ's, Rising Sun, Motorcycle Wild, Patty's work place Survey Southwest, and end at the Ponderosa.

Mark, Patty & Albert (one of our newest members) will be handling the beginning at PJ's.

Yvonne & Philip have Rising Sun, Diana & Leslie have Motorcycle Wild.

NMMRO will take care of Survey Southwest. They will be selling special "biker" water - make sure you get some.

Mita was mysteriously volunteered for the end of the run at the Ponderosa. Top, being the gentleman that he is, volunteered to help the mommy of our youngest member Conner. (Yes, Mita, we expect to see his little face if only for a few minutes.) Kenny Sandlin will be manning the sucker stand at the Pondo; make sure you pay him a visit!

State Board meeting will be held in Rio Rancho on Saturday April 17th. All our members are welcome to attend. If you need more info you can contact Mark & Leslie, Patty or Top.
