Meetings
This is a summary of the minutes from the February 4, 2007 chapter meeting:
The Meeting was called to order at 10:05am by Coordinator, Mike Baca.
The minutes from the December meeting were corrected to include Larry August as a member representing us and the NMMRO in Santa Fe. Our sincere apologies to Lone Wolf for the omission.
Treasurer's Report
Old Business
1. T shirts are for sale @ $10 each. We have put the info on the web and will be selling them on line with a $2.50 shipping fee. Mike has the shirts and will be the contact person on the site, 281-5147.
2. COC meeting was to be held February 10 and 2pm at the Blue Ribbon in Estancia.
3. NMMRO will be meeting on 17 February at Wrap it Up at 11am. Everyone is welcome.
4. Bike Day at the Capitol will be February 19. Meet at the Ponderosa at 7:30am to carpool.
5. The State Board meeting will be 24 February.
New Business
1. Officers met to plan the 2007 Calendar on January 27. It was presented to membership, discussed and revised. A copy appears with these minutes, and is also posted on the website.
2. A prospective member, Keith Taylor, was introduced by Big Dee. We also have two new members, Bob and Tina. Welcome to all of you!
3. Charlene has been busy as usual, and has arranged to have membership drives in conjunction with Thunderbird Harley, on May 5 and August 18. She also informed us that there is a Graffiti Tattoo convention at the State Fairgrounds on Feb-23-25, sponsored by Thunderbird. Charlene has also been in contact with several new bands, which would love to perform at our events.
4. We discussed the proposed Wyoming, Colorado and Utah helmet laws. Please remember that even thought we do not live in these states, it does affect our brothers who do, as well as ourselves when we want to ride through them. So please contact their state representatives and express your opinions. Contact information can be obtained through Barb Alvar 792.3207.
5. Barbara discussed events going on in Santa Fe at the legislative sessions. See NMMRO for updates. If you want sample letters to mail out, contact Angel 281-8673 or kcsangel2@msn.com.
Announcements
1. Boomer informed us that his buddy, Sgt. Kent Gray will be returning from Iraq on Monday night, February 5 at 7:45pm at the Sunport. Please be there to welcome him back if possible.
2. Boomers gal Carly (Naughty Naughty) and her daughter Becca are making knit scarves in various clubs colors to help Becca earn monies for a school fundraiser. Contact them for more info - 832-4443.
3. Rail announced that a VFW post is holding a "Troop Donations" drive. Contact Rail for further information 264-1810.
4. Tracy with the E-Z Wraps has POW/MIA head wraps. Tracy committed to being at several ABATE events this year with these for sale @ $20 each.
The next meeting will be on March 4, right back at the Ponderosa at 10am.
