Treasurer's Report

Old Business

1. Barbara brought our t-shirt order. We have 100 shirts, including 12 XXL at $10 each. Barb paid $665.30 out of pocket, and will be reimbursed by Mita. A discussion was held whether or not to charge more for the XXL sizes. We voted to charge the same for all sizes. We will check on putting a t-shirt order on the web, deleting the present info, and charging $2.50 per shirt shipping. Mike has the shirts and will be the contact person on the site, 281-5147.

2. Carly reported that the Luminaria sale went great; over 5000 sold.

3. Christmas music which was presented at the Ponderosa by several of our members went very well, and over $300 in tips collected went to the Women's Shelter.

4. We now have 3 more bands interested in playing at ABATE events; the No Name Band, Easy Street Blues Band, and Impala.

5. Barbara reported that the N-Com Convention went well; no major problems, though Charlene did have a "discussion" regarding fire arms with the hotel management. Tiger Mike from ABATE of Oklahoma wrote a letter of appreciation for the hospitality of all involved.

6. The January COC meeting was cancelled.

7. Jokers and TD's are now two more bars banning colors.

8. There has been a recent article in "HogTails" discussing what ABATE is all about.

9. NMMRO - Barbara advised us that the legislative session begins on January 15. NMMRO will be there starting 1-16. The bills we are following this year are: a) The Gang Bill, with the new wording criminal/gang activity. b) Road Bill. c) Motorcycle added registration fee (to support motorcycle education). d) Specialty license plates for motorcycles - CJ is investigating most popular and will present top 5. Barbara will be posting a schedule of those willing to lobby. So far Barbara, CJ and Damon are doing all of this. Don't forget Bike Day at the Capital on February 19; anyone wanting to carpool to Santa Fe should meet at the Ponderosa, departing at 7:30am. Be sure to wear your colors. We have the rotunda reserved 10:30-11:30am. Boomer, Top, and John Green among others, will speak. We hope to have a great showing - Come on out! NMMRO will be changing their dues time table - it was somehow forgotten last year….Oops. Barbara recently sent out an email from ABATE of Montana, who is fighting their own helmet law. Please respond to her email, and request that they don't take away yet another right in Montana. They may be more responsive to help us when the time comes.

New Business

1. We will discuss our yearly calendar at the next meeting. Officers will meet prior to the meeting to map out the proposed calendar. Some things we want to plan are: a) a ride the third Sunday of each month; b) a Heron Lake campout; c) Ride to the Schaffer Hotel in Mountainair with an overnight stay, meeting the next morning and ride to the Indian ruins; d) Fenton Lake Campout; e) School Supply Run; f) ride and meeting at Jenks in Moriarty and the Blue Ribbon in Estancia. Wow!! Busy and fun summer coming up - don't miss a thing). If you have other ideas call Mike - 281-5147, Joyce - 281-8673, or Charlene 832-6332 by January 27.

2. State Board Meeting January 13, Elks Club in Rio Rancho.

Announcements

1. Joyce Sherrod had a major heart attack; she is home now and doing well, but will have to undergo a quadruple by-pass in about 6 weeks. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

2. Rolling Thunder group has sent info on this years run. Contact Joyce if you want a copy.

3. Barbara and Boomers birthday - January 8. Happy Birthday to you both.

4. Mita introduced us to 2 "crazy" New Yorkers, and prospective new members, Diane and Ray. Welcome to the "sunny" southwest - ha-ha more snow here than New York this year!

The next meeting will be on February 4, right back at the Ponderosa at 10am.

The meeting adjourned at 11:03am. Have a great month!

Respectfully Submitted by Angel
