This is a summary of the minutes from the January 4, 2004 chapter meeting:
Meeting called to order at 10:00 a.m.
Promptly after the meeting started, Top asked for a moment of silence to honor Dave Berry. Dave was our brother, a man with honor, compassion, passion and always a BAD joke on the tip of his tongue. A moment of silence for our brother and friend Dave Berry.
Secretary's note: This has been a monumental time for many of us in so many ways, I personally want to embrace all of our members and members loved ones with my love and prayers. We truly are family and it shows!
Treasurer's Report
Old Business
We have made out checks to NMMRO, MRF, & Patches (in memory of Lanky Dave).
Motion made and accepted to donate to crash fund instead of 50/50 to Patty for expenses.
Patches have been made (In Memory of Lanky Dave). 286.00 from general fund was allocated to the purchase. The patches will be 5.00 each; all proceeds will go to Patty to help with all expenses. We will be able to have more printed up as necessary.
New Business
Patty has acquired a one ton delivery van; she has donated it to the 1st Mtn Racing Team.
Our kids motocross racing team had become a passion of Dave's. He would be very proud of Patty's generosity, as we are very grateful!
Jack presented a sticker in Dave's likeness and requested that we send it to all ABATE members when we send out the newsletter.
Motion made and accepted: Our chapter picnic will now be called The Lanky Dave Memorial Picnic.
The COC of New Mexico will be leading national funding for fighting the Patriot Act.
Dave's name will be included in the reading of fallen brothers and bell ringing at NCOM convention.
Motion made & accepted: Patty & Dave Berry now have lifetime membership in First Mountain ABATE.
1st Mtn. Racing Team: The kids, Cherie & Jack worked on a logo, and it is awesome! Cherie Casey has been donating all her time and vinyl to the cause, she will be making stickers to sell, and will have advertising space available for the side of the van. We will be working on T-shirt logos so the kids can sell t-shirts to benefit the team. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR GOOD USED DIRT BIKES (in all sizes) for sale and especially donation!
Motion made and accepted that Cherie Casey is now our racing team Coordinator as well as PR person! WAY TO GO CHERIE!!! BINGO Night: JAN 17; Pot luck/bake sale!!

April 25th: Team Lanky Poker Run
June 12th: Chapter Campout
July 10th: Lanky Dave Memorial Picnic/State Meeting
Aug 15th: School Supply Run
Sept 4th-6th: Labor Day Campout
Oct 30th: Halloween Party
We will incorporate Christmas in July with our chapter picnic - details to follow, We will have a 50/50 at every function; 25% to team ABATE 25% to Crash fund.
Next meeting is Feb 1st.
